about

Hi everyone! I guess it's time to catch up on things!

Since my album, Sweet Suite, was released, I've been thinking about where TFH should go on from here. So far, I've been releasing a new album every 5 or 8 songs, which was working well for the past records, but since the last endeavor to the catalogue, I feel as if TFH is ready for something new....

You see, months ago I ran a Qrates campaign to release Hits! on Vinyl. This had been something I've always wanted to do, and I guess the excitement overtook me. With 70 days to go, I was already at my 6th reddit post, and I guess you can say that people weren't too happy with me.

For that, I apologize. However, some people took it upon themselves to bully and belittle me, (which is never okay) calling me such names as 'Basement Dwelling Neckbeard C*nts', and saying that I'll never get the album pressed, yaddy yada yada...

Well, I'm sorry to tell you, BDNCs, you are all wrong. The record is HERE, both for your eyes and ears to enjoy...

But it's not Hits! Why is that?

Well, It's mostly because the haters are right- to an extent. Which brings me to the very point of this release. If I'm going to continue TFH, I can't keep slowing down a sample and chopping it up like it's 2012 all over again. No, I must get a little more 'creative' with my sample choices.

That's why I had to choose something more modern for this release.

But what? I asked myself. I could make a 'new' Hits album, but then people would hate to see 'TFH Hits!' on their feed for the millionth or so time.

And then it came to me. It had to be one of the new recordings. I decided to go with the two that started the new era of TFH, 'Addicted 2U' and 'Smile' as they were the two that just came out at the time, and I was quite proud of the 'anime inspired nature' of the two records. However, as I continued to make more, the style became a lot more ambitious, (which was GREAT) but now I had a lot more material to work with.

At one point, I was going to include 'Creative!' as a bonus track on the Smile side, as I just made it at the time, which was quickly dethroned by 'Keep On' as the 'HOUSE TRAX EP' was coming near completion.

Then I released the 'AMERICAN DREAMMM EP', quite a turning point in my career as a producer of vaporwave / future funk. Tracks like 'Celery' and 'Bandcamp Friday' have always been my favorites, but my proudest sample-work of all time would have to be on the track 'Suit_andTie'. It was just something that, If I was ever going to get a record pressed, should be on it even if something else got the axe...

Smile just had to go.

So the new album was ADDICTED 2U b/w AMERICAN DREAMMM, but I wasn't quite finished. I liked the track 'bees' and 'Highly Collectible' but the more I listened to it, the more I felt it didn't belong on the record. In its place, I have 'Anything' (from Futuristic Space Sex) and 'Searchin' and 'Festival' (from teacher) It just seemed like a better listen.

Several edits were made for the vinyl edition of this album. For one, I had to cut down the track 'thinkin bout you' to 2:01. Why, well actually, the original mix is an edit of a 1:00 version available on my soundcloud. When listening back to both versions, the short one was 'just to short' and the long one was 'too long and boring' for inclusion on this release. All in all, a compromise was reached. This, to me is the definitive edit of 'thinkin bout you'

The next edits were simple adjustments to the lowpass filters on 'BRING LOVE' and 'actually, I'm a boy!' these were done to give the tracks the effect I truly wanted in the first place, but was unable to do due to not knowing how to do them.

The last edits I made to this release were simply adding fadeouts to 'Anything' and 'Searchin' as well as slightly editing the run time of 'Bandcamp Friday' for time constraints on the record.

Sadly, I had to omit 'Goodnight etc..' from Addicted 2U, due to time constraints. also It really doesn't fit in with the transition to AMERICAN DREAMMM.

Lastly, I want to touch on packaging. Why did I decide to go with such a bland design? Simply put, I wanted my record to look like a DJ promo. That's why Hits looks the same way as this. I am a total sucker for those kinds of records that are completely understated. A simple promo sleeve, white label- my cup of tea. However, each sleeve is individually numbered out of 100 and includes a special TFH sticker.

For cassette buyers, I've made a special package for you as well! The tape is housed in an 'O-card' like a cassingle, with special, adapted artwork of the TFH sunset provided from my assets used to make the sticker. I've made these on 'duplication.ca' and they feature an alternate mix of 'thinkin bout you' with an extended intro, an all American prologue to side b, and added dialogue to the introduction of 'Celery'. They also feature a bonus track, 'Gloria' that's included on the digital version as well!

So what's next for TFH? I might make some more albums, but quite not as close together as the previous releases. I plan on doing some collaborations with my cousin (If She's up to the offer) and maybe some live shows on IG, with some of the new material. Also I plan to release more physicals in the coming months of some of my previous work. If you have a suggestion of what you want to see come out, please, let me know! (I'm even thinking of releasing an album to minidisc) :)

In conclusion, Thank you for supporting me! It really has been quite a journey, through all the ups and downs and finally seeing this thing in my hands is really a treat for the eyes and ears! As many of you who follow my IG will see, I'm not only a creator of Vaporwave but a collector as well. I Idol Saint Pepsi, and have almost everything of him on Vinyl (yes, even that shitty lathe cut of LND- the exact one on the Discogs page pictures, and I love it to death even though it has a skip in it) Ever since I was very little, these little discs of plastic have fascinated me, and I always wanted one of my own, even if it was one of my shitty mixtape albums.

But this isn't a shitty mixtape album. With those, I sang on them, but the music wasn't me. Could I really call that mine? No. This, however was something I made. I made this happen, and It's something I'm very proud of, and I want to thank you all for helping me make this whole thing possible. Thank you, Takuchi, for giving me a chance and buying my silly cassette on Discogs and writing a blog about it. Thank you Archival Tapes for being a really cool dude, for calming my online anxiety and putting 'Paid Programming' on cassette. Thank you to Heath on Reddit and to my cousin, Sophia, for being there for me on IG, and helping me through my severe depression spells. Thank you, Tupperwave and Luxury Elite for being really cool dudes as well as My Pet Flamingo for putting out some of my favorite pieces of wax to date. Thank you Pad Chennington for getting me into vaporwave in the first place. Thanks to the great Saint Pepsi for making my favorite album of all time (Hit Vibes, of which I have 4 copies on vinyl, 2015 Red, 2015 Black, 300 Black, 2020 Repress and I play the red copy EVERY day!) Thanks to my parents, Dale and Kim, as well as my grandmother, Guee, for supporting me through everything and believing in me. And thank you everyone who wrote a review, good and bad, even the ones who thought I was a total nut job. Thank you.

And thank you to the one who gave me the talent to make this music in the first place, My heavenly father, who by Him alone, was given life to live to see this thing finally released.

And to the notorious, thank you as well. You helped me improve my edits as well as this record even before it was even pressed. You see, your hurtful words are engraved in the deadwax for all to see. So thanks! :)

Enjoy the record, and much more to come.
Love, your beautiful bastard,

TFH ;)

P.S. I know some people love to have various alcoholic drinks paired with their listening experience, but since I can't have any alcohol because of my medicine, I decided to include a 'soft cocktail' recipe (meaning that it has no alcohol in it) to drink while you listen to this record. So listen, experience, drink, and be merry, my friends. :)

The TFH 'Soft Cocktail'
1 cup orange / pineapple juice
1/2 cup Welch's sparkling grape juice (Red)
1/3 cup Monster Pipeline Punch
1/2 cup sugar
1 tablespoon orange Tang
1 tablespoon lemonade mix
water to taste

add all ingredients together in a large glass and stir until all sugar, tang and lemonade mix is dissolved. serve with ice.

Enjoy!

If you must have alcohol with this beverage, substitute the sparkling grape juice with a low volume red wine. You might also want to try this drink with a teaspoon of 5 hour energy for that true TFH inspiration, ehee.

And now, a showcase of some of the great, Soundcloud comments:
